Why should I get the CSCS Card?

Latest Update – CSCS Red Trainee Card: From February 1st, 2025, those with an approved Level 2 or higher qualification can apply for the CSCS Red Trainee Card, valid for two years. Upon expiry, a three-year Trainee Card can be issued if the applicant is registered on a relevant NVQ/SVQ or alternative qualification. Registration must be verified before renewal. The five-year card remains valid for those on formal training routes and is still a recognised path to competency in construction.. Based on the delegate’s abilities, an appropriate CSCS Card are assigned to them, to serve their responsibility more actively.

What is CSCS Red Trainee Card?

CSCS Red Trainee Card is a type of CSCS Card, which is assigned to a Trainee who are learning to become a skilled worker in a specific construction field; for example: Painting, Plastering, Carpentry, Bricklaying etc.


What to do in order to get the Red Trainee Card?

In order to get the Red Trainee Card, you must pass CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test for Operatives or Specialists(as per the Qualification), within last 2 years and registered with a construction related qualification which can be vocational, academic or professional, but must be acceptable for a skilled CSCS card.


How should I renew my CSCS Red Trainee Card?

A person can hold this Card for one time only. Cardholders are expected to complete their qualification by the time this card expires and apply for a skilled CSCS card.

What should I do, if my CSCS Red Trainee Card has been lost or stolen?
