What does a Construction Labourer do?
A construction labourer carries out hands-on work on building sites, supporting construction, maintenance, and site cleanliness activities. Their duties can include transporting materials and tools, preparing and clearing work areas, excavating trenches, mixing and laying concrete or mortar, assisting with groundwork and drainage, helping construct walls and foundations, and ensuring the site remains safe and organised. Labourers may also help with basic record-keeping and ordering supplies when required. Construction labourers are involved in many stages of a project, from initial site setup to ongoing maintenance. They often work alongside and assist skilled tradespeople such as electricians, plumbers, and bricklayers, helping ensure work progresses efficiently and safely.
